The word, “expand” means to enlarge or “increase.” It can also mean, “Multiplying.”
The word translated, “territory, “literally means a “cord.” It carries with it the idea of a border that has a rope around it to let everyone know its dimensions and limitations.
In Genesis 9:27, Noah asked God to “extend the territory of Japheth.”
Exodus 34:24 reveals that God was interested in giving an expanded vision to His people when he said, “I will drive out nations before you and enlarge your territory…”
Jabez prayed that God would enlarge his territory or expand his coast. 1chronicles 4:9-10
When you ask GOD for expanded territory you are saying, God stretch the boundaries that had been imposed on me by circumstances beyond my control.

Psalm 124:7 “Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped”. The verse you have just read, gives a wonderful picture of what is called breakthrough. Imagine the scene of a bird that is living in a cage. It has been caged by captors.
Even though the bird has ability and potential to soar high and travel for miles in the sky, it has been reduced to a creature that cannot move past the cage. It now lives in surroundings that limit its full potential.
A violent wind breaks out one day, the cage is lifted up by unseen wind power and violently smashed on the ground, the force of the impact flings the doors open.
Now the bird for the first time has an appointment with destiny. It seizes the opportunity to fly towards purpose, saying bye bye to the Cage and a life of captivity.
We can say that the territory of the bird has been expanded.
If you’re in the grip of a bad habit.
Or feel tethered to the tentacles of your past.
God did not create anyone to come to this world and fail. To be caged by issues, failures heartaches headaches and whatever aches.
- Do you want God reposition your ropes and blast your current boundaries out with dynamite.
- Do you want God to intensify your impact in the society and to multiply your dreams, ministry or goals?
- Are you saying- now that I have this far. God I will not hold back any longer.
- Are you determined to move out for God?
- You want to make a difference.
- Do you want to be an impact player in the game of life?
- Do you want to been trusted with more responsibility
I want you to trust God from the outset to help you break out of whatever will or is limiting you.
Don’t settle for just plodding through life. You don’t have to have money, influence, intelligence, or family connections. Start by finding out what God wants you to do with your life…
